Accessory Building on Aberdeen Creek
This 3,500 sf timberframe barn serves as an accessory structure to a new 14,000 sf custom home and is located on a 5-acre property on Aberdeen Creek. The barn is used to house the Owner’s antique motorcycle and auto collection. The polished concrete floor of the showroom area opens up with full glass French doors on the water side of the structure connecting to a large entertainment terrace and screened porch. A second floor studio space has two large retractable glass doors with stainless steel cables that open to the showroom below. The first floor powder room includes stainless steel diamond-plated walls and a vanity fabricated to look like a mechanic’s work bench. The structure also includes a large lift bay and two additional work shops fully fitted out with professional-grade mechanic’s benches and tool storage. Two windowed cupolas allow natural light to penetrate the interior. Cables hung from steel rods bring focus to the decorative wood trusses that are featured throughout the entire structrue. As well, the interior of the entire barn is completely finished with exposed stained wood and hand-hewn beams.
