V. V. Commercial Center is a 14,000 sf retail/office building located in Gambrills, MD. The two-story structure is a pre-engineered metal building. The facade design deleted the pre-engineneerd building’s metal wall panels and an exterior insulation finishing system was installed for better aesthetics. Elements of Feng Shui were incorporated into the space planning and selection of fixtures and finishes for the interior space of Vuong’s Martial Arts Center. Feng Shui also played a role in the overall design of the building, as well as the placement of the builidng on the site. The structure has two freestanding exterior staircases that are supported by a center column, giving a perception of a floating staircase. The accent walls on either side of the building are split masonry block.
