About Our Studio
History

In 1996, Catherine Purple Cherry established Purple Cherry Architects out of a home office, where she was the sole employee. Steady growth quickly led to the hire of a intern architect and office manager and a move to the firm's original office space, 600 square feet in an historic four-square on West Street in Annapolis, Maryland. In 1997, Purple Cherry Architects took over the entire 1,500 square foot building.
Today, Purple Cherry Architects is a thriving practice with 13 employees including four licensed architects, project designers, intern architects, CAD technicians and support staff. The firm operates out of a 4,400 square foot space at One Melvin Avenue in vibrant West Annapolis.
Purple Cherry Architects is a certified Woman-Owned and Minority Business Enterprise with the Maryland Department of Transportation (Certification No. 05-502) and a member of the U.S. Green Building Council.
